Manipur Shiv Sena president M Tombi on Friday urged those demanding a "separate administration" to step back and said that he had submitted memorandums to various central leaders of different political parties to raise the Manipur issue in Parliament, prioritizing normalcy in state.
Addressing mediapersons at the state party head office located at Babupara, Imphal, Tombi said that he submitted the memorandums to various central leaders during his five-day visit to Delhi.
“Time for defence is over and those who are demanding a separate administration should step back so that we can live together,” he said.
Tombi said the state Shiv Sena will never compromise on the territorial boundary of Manipur and will continue to press the central government not to give separate administration.
The Shiv Sena does not target the Kuki community that have been living in Manipur for years, but the party is targeting those illegal migrants trying to instigate the present crisis by misleading the Kuki community, he added.
“Those narco-terrorists are earning huge amounts of money from illegal poppy cultivation, illegal Ganja cultivation in hilly areas of Manipur and they are even instigating the Kuki brothers for a separate administration from Manipur,” Tombi said.
He cautioned those narco-terrorists not to mislead the Kuki community who have been living in Manipur for years to disintegrate territorial integrity and boundary of Manipur.
Student bodies, civil society organisations need to cooperate more to save Manipur against the attack of narco-terrorists, Tombi said, adding that MLAs and MPs of Manipur should also cooperate and come forward instead of just taking care of their seats.
