Statehood Day 2022: CM Biren calls upon all to work towards building progressive and peaceful Manipur

Celebrating the 50th Statehood Day of Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren extended greetings to the people and called upon all to foster greater sense of brotherhood among all communities in the state.

As Manipur marks its 50th Statehood Day on Friday, January 21, 2022, Chief Minister N Biren Singh extended warm greetings to the people of the state and called upon all to work relentlessly towards building a progressive and peaceful Manipur.

"I extend my warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Statehood Day. Since attainment of Statehood, we have had an eventful journey of development. On this day, let us resolve to work relentlessly towards building a progressive and peaceful Manipur," Biren said in a Twitter post on Friday morning.

On the eve of the Statehood Day, the chief minister also called upon the people to pledge to "foster greater sense of brotherhood among all communities" in the state.

“The attainment of statehood on January 21, 1972 was a landmark in the history of our people... It fulfilled a long cherished dream to empower ourselves to shape our own destiny within the framework of the Constitution of India. Since then we have had an eventful journey of progress and development. We have ably emerged as a powerhouse of games and sports. Government is committed to make Manipur a role model of all-round progress in the country,” Biren stated in a message to the people of the state on Thursday.

The chief minister also spelt out his vision for Manipur.
