Fulminating against the unpleasant turn of events in the state, president of Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) L Nganbi on Thursday held the state government responsible for allegedly instigating the fight between Arambai Tenggol and police commandos.

She alleged that the same is a hidden policy and agenda of the present government in the state in an attempt to politicize the crisis.

The commandos playing pretend to lay down their weapons as well as Arambai Tenggol being coerced to surrender their weapons is all a policy of the Centres and state government, she alleged.

She mentioned the attack on a security by Kuki militants using sophisticated weapons at Moreh and killing and officers would have been the right time for the securities, commandos, IRBs as well as Arambai Tenggol to stage their arms down protest.

She claimed that such a step is a tactic to sow discord among the people. ‘The public oppose such mindless claims to resign from their posts or surrender weapons,’ Nganbi asserted.

She mentioned that there is a rumor that the commandos have been given back their weapons and their powers increased and went on to question whether the same is to target Arambai Tenggol, for arresting them or the revolutionaries fighting for their motherland.

She expressed shock over the development and lambasted the move, reminding that they were incapable of safeguarding their motherland on pretext that their powers had been stripped off.

She advised the state government to stop being a puppet to the Centre and instead follow the examples of Gambhir Singh and make a right decision and administration resolution to save the state.

Arambai Tenggol must also not take hasty decisions of surrendering their weapons, Nganbi said, adding that they should withdraw their step. She further urged the authorities concerned not to conduct combing operations unnecessarily in the valley areas when none have been conducted in the hill areas.
