SP tells Churachandpur public not to panic

The Churachandpur SP said the security personnel stationed in the region will ensure that law and order is not compromised.

Following the news reports that COCOMI and others have planned to remove the army barricades at Phouchakhai and shift to Torbung Bangla on Wednesday (September 6), the SP of Churachandpur, Karthik Malladi, on Tuesday told the people of the district that there was no need to panic.

Addressing the press at his official chamber, the SP said that there is no reason to panic as they have stationed enough security personnel, including the civil police, CRPF, BSF, ITBF, RAF and the Army near Kangvai and other areas. They will ensure that law and order is not compromised, the SP said.

He admitted that there was such a threat in the past but things didn’t escalate and further admitted that there are incidents of firing and casualty. However, he assured that they are in constant touch with police and security forces from Bisnupur and Kakching.

He then called on the public of Churachandpur not to make efforts to gather at Kangvai or S Kotlian area as it can hamper the movement of security forces, promising that the district administration, the police and CAPFs had made all necessary arrangements to thwart any attempt to cross the buffer zone.
