Proprietor of Sona Security Agency, Vungzalam Ngaihte, has expressed discontentment after four of his security personnel at the construction site of Churachandpur Medical College at Mata, Churachandpur, were found replaced by district police personnel even as the work by Keystone Company Pvt Ltd was still underway.
Addressing the press at Lamlian Veng in Bungmual, Vungzalam Ngaihte said he was surprised to find that four of his security personnel at the construction site of CMC had been replaced by district police.
The replacement with no explanation means that four of his personnel, who are the bread earners of their family, have no income to support their families now, he lamented. He informed that he appealed to the higher authorities concerned but to no avail.
He said that the regulations made in 2005 for Private Security Agency are fulfilled by them where their personnel are fit to work in construction sites and for prevention of crime and claimed that the police and authorised Security Agency are under the home ministry and their work are basically the same.
The proprietor of Sona Security Agency also said that he had petitioned the DGP of Manipur about the sudden decision after his agency was working with the Construction Company for 2 years and also petitioned the SP of Churachandpur but that he got no response.
In his appeal to the DGP of Manipur on 17 April, 2023, Vungzalam Ngaihte said that the police department had many responsibilities commitment in the town and so it will be in the best interest of all to allow them to fulfill their commitment at the construction site which will allow the police to focus on other issue.
It may be mentioned that Sona Security Agency, the first and only recognised security Agency in Churachandpur established in 2020, has 68 personnel in nine centres in Churachandpur who are trained with the requisite training hour as specified by the government in 2005.
