Six held with bags of urea fertilisers

According to sources, the police detained three culprits and three drivers along with their three trucks containing the Indian origin 200 bags of DAP and 400 bags of Dr Fasal urea bio fertilizer

Six persons along with three trucks containing 200 bags of  Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilisers and 400 bags of Dr Fasal urea bio fertilizers allegedly intended to be sent to Myanmar, were handed over to assistant commissioner, Imphal Custom Division on Thursday.

According to sources, the police detained three culprits and three drivers along with their three trucks containing the Indian origin 200 bags of DAP and 400 bags of Dr Fasal urea bio fertilizer, when investigation brought light that the fertilizers were intended to be sent to Myanmar.

It added that the police force handed over the six accused along with their three trucks containing the bags of urea bio fertilizer, to the assistant commissioner, Imphal Custom Division, Sangakpham, Imphal for further necessary action. A prima facie case of cross border smuggling/illegal export attempting to export fertilizers to Myanmar was also filed during the enquiry, it mentioned.

The release continued that the three culprits were identified as Mangneo Haokip, 24, son of Thonglet from Haijang Village in Churachandpur district (consignor of Dr Fasal Urea N-40); Thokchom Bidur Singh, 35, son of late Th Thanil from Thinungei Awang Leikai (supplier of Dr Fasal Urea N- 40); and Anthony Paotinlen Haokip alias Lenpu, 23, son of Paul Ngamlal Haokip from  Jordan Village, Khengjoi Sub Division under Khengjoi Police Station.

The three drivers were identified as Mangminlian Phiamphu, 26, son of late Doulel from Tuning Village in Churachandpur district; Kapsianpau Phiamphu, 28, son of Lammang from Tuning Village in Churachandpur district; and Tongkhohao Haokip, 22, son of Shokhilun Haokip from M  Phaimol Village in Churachandpur district, it added.
