The Joint Students’ Body (JSB), Lamka on Sunday declared a 12-hour total shutdown from 6 am to 6 pm on Monday in protest against the arrest of six people by the CBI.
“This shutdown is a show of our opposition to the selective and discriminatory opening of cases and investigation by central agencies under the influence of the state government while the hundreds of cases of heinous crimes against our people remain uninvestigated and the inhumane act of arresting innocent school children and transporting them out of the state,” stated a release.
The shutdown which is a show of resentment against the discriminatory treatment and appeal all to abide by, it added.
JSB is a union of GSO, HSA, KSO, KSU, KZP, MSO, MZP, SSPP, TCSA, TSP, ZILLAI, ZSF, ZSP.
In another release by the joint students body, it has condemned the way the six, including a woman, were arrested by CBI without any police woman in presence and inhuman act of transporting minors with those arrested.
Further, any person with arms and moving around in plain clothes will be stopped and action will be taken against them, the release said.
It also asked the general public to take action as they deem fit if anyone is found moving around in plain clothes and behaving in a suspicious manner.
