Founder member of Shree Shree Govindaji Nat Sankirtan M Seityaban, at 28th Foundation Day observation of Shree Shree Govindaji Nat Sankirtan at JN Manipur Dance Academy on Thursday, stated that it was the utmost duty of people to safeguard and protect their cultures even during times of great distress.

Seityaban stated that the survival of civilisation and people depended on the survival of their cultures. “Survival of even an inkling of the traditional practices and culture can ensure the survival of an entire community even during times of great distress and destruction,” he said.

He emphasised the need for youths to expose themselves to different facets of the culture to ensure the survival of the aged old beliefs and practices. Education of the younger generation is a vital element to safeguard and protect our culture, he added.

He further stressed on the need for people to collectively strive in initiating such measures instead of trying to drag down one another.

Former director of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Dilip mayengbam, director of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Pukhrambam Bilash, former choreographer (production unit) of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Th Chaotombi also attended the event.
