Shirui Lily Festival 2022 to hold painting, essay writing competitions

Prizes ranging between Rs 3,000 to 10,000 will be awarded to winning participants at the Essay writing and Painting competition to be held at the Shirui Lily Festival 2020 in Ukhrul.

The Shirui Lily Festival 2020 to be held in Ukhrul, Manipur will feature painting and essay writing competitions to be conducted by an NGO - Career Pathfinder.

Essay writing will be held in two categories - Category A is open for 12th standard and above and will write on the topic: “Shirui Lily Festival - Balancing Festival and Conservation Effort” in about 750 words. For the B category, registration is open for class X (10) and below, and will be on the topic: “Shirui Lily Festival - Challenges and Opportunities,” in about 500 words.

The painting competition also will be held in two categories. Category A is “open for all” and will paint on the topic: “Conserve Nature to Conserve Life”, while for category B, it is open for class VIII and below who would paint on the topic: “My Vision of Shirui Lily in 2030.”

For essay A category, 1st prize will receive Rs 10,000; 2nd prize Rs 6,000, 3rd prize Rs 3,000.

Consolation prizes worth Rs. 500 will be given to ten participants. While for essay writing B category, 1st prize will be given Rs.5,000; 2nd prize Rs. 3,000, 3rd prize Rs. 2,000. Ten (10) consolation prizes worth Rs. 500 each will also be given.

As for the Painting competition, the winner of A category will be awarded Rs. 10,000; 2nd prize Rs. 6,000, 3rd prize Rs. 3,000. Consolation prize worth Rs. 500 each will be given to ten participants.
Similarly, for B category painting, 1st prize will be given Rs. 5,000; 2nd prize Rs. 3,000, 3rd prize Rs. 2,000. Consolation prize worth Rs. 500 each will be given to ten (10) participants.

Interested participants who would like to take part in the competition may submit the following documents - good quality two passport size photos; Aadhar card photocopy, student identity card or reading certificate from the institution where the participants are reading (This is not mandatory for open category). Last date of registration is 23 May, 2022.
