Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd has successful completed 200 device closures for holes in the heart in collaboration with Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) on 28th July 2023.
The hospital has organised 35 device closure camps across all districts in Manipur and Nagaland, and Mizoram catering to children aged 0 to 18 years through RBSK since November 2017, while PMJAY and CMHT health cards were used for device closure for adults. The treating team have successfully performed 208 device closures (Manipur - 178, Nagaland- 17 and Mizoram-13) and 40 open heart surgeries till date, Lourembam Premjit Singh, Manager-Business Development, Shija Hospitals said in a release.
The device closure procedures performed at Shija Hospitals have enabled children and adolescents to overcome a range of health challenges, including congenital heart defects, Atrial Septal Defects, Ventricular Septal Defects, and Patent Ductus Arteriosus, among others. These minimally invasive interventions have significantly improved the quality of life for young patients, allowing them to lead healthier and more active lives, the release added.
