Several groups and the JAC against the killing of Seigunlal Misao, a Class XII student on Saturday night in Kangpokpi's Motbung Model village has refuted the allegation of National Revolutionary Front Manipur (NRFM), which claimed responsibility for the murder, that the student was a drug peddler.
The JAC decided to claim the dead body lying at RIMS Morgue, Imphal following an agreement with the CM. However, infuriated by the allegation of NRFM that Seigunlal Misao was a drug peddler, the JAC took a U-turn and has decided not to claim the body.
JAC convenor Paominlun Lhouvum said they were supposed to claim the dead body of Seigunlal Lhouvum today (Tuesday) after the post-mortem but the responsibility claimed by the outlawed militant NRFM and accusing Seigunlal Misao as a drug peddler has enraged the public, the family members and the JAC are compelled to take a U-turn.

He also said that CM Biren and the SP of Kangpokpi had assured them to book the culprits even before any claim came up in the public domain. But the culprits have openly come up in the public domain claiming responsibility over the brutal murder, he said, adding that the ball is now in the hands of the government.
The JAC categorically denied and refuted the NRFM's allegation and described it as a false allegation meant to hide their ultra vires murder case and win over the public sympathetically in the name of an anti-drug campaign.
Meanwhile, mother of the deceased refuted the claim stating that her son is not indulged in such activities as accused.

The Motbung Village Authority also strongly denounced and outrightly rejected the accusations with VA secretary Letkhohao Lhouvum stating the accusation is false and unfounded.
He continued that Motbung Village Authority is fully aware of Seigunlal's identity and can only vouch for his moral character and family history given that he was born and raised in the village.
The Motbung Meetei Development Committee, Thadou Youth Association Sadar Hills Joint Headquarters, Kuki National Front-Nehlun(KNF-N) also condemned MRNF and their allegation.
