Security forces hold free mega medical camp for villagers

Mega Medical Camp for villages under Singngat sub-division was conducted by 46th Assam Rifle or Khuga Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme at the public ground of Singhat Village, Churachandpur.

The free medical camp was organised in collaboration with the Community Health Centre, Singngat led by its medical officer (MO) in charge Minlun Steve Tungnung and his staff. The medical camp is a continuation of the 46th AR’s effort to improve mutual trust with the people and to maintain peace and harmony in the region.

In the medical camp, a total of 463 villagers were examined by five doctors followed by the distribution of essential medicines to all affected people.

As part of the camp, various sports items including volleyball, basketball, football and chess were distributed to different schools and youth clubs of the region. The AR team also distributed water storage tanks to the village chiefs of the region. 

The villagers were also briefed about the importance of maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation in their daily routine to avoid diseases.
