Security forces distribute sports items in Churachandpur district

The items were distributed with the aim to promote sports culture.

Security Forces under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organised distribution of sports items at Hiangtam Khunou, Beheng and Suangdoi in Churachandpur district on November 14. 

The items were distributed with the aim to promote sports culture in the border villages while motivating and aiding the youth and children with the basic requirement of sports items, according to a press communiqué issued by IGAR (S).

The subject initiative was taken after assessing the requirements for the youth and students in the border areas. This initiative will not only instill confidence among the students but will motivate them to pursue career in sports field. This programme also aims at achieving the goal of promoting Fit India movement by the students to be actively involved in sports activities.

Meanwhile, security forces under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted Motivational Lecture to Join Indian Army and Assam Rifles at Hengkot village, Churachandpur District (Manipur) on November 15. 

The lecture was organised to spread awareness amongst the youth about various opportunities to join Indian Army and Assam Rifles. They were briefed about the upcoming recruitment opportunities and assured of assistance and guidance from security forces to achieve their dreams to serve the Nation. Approximately 15 local youth attended the lecture.
Security Forces organised a friendly Basketball match with the students on November 16 at St Joseph College, Ukhrul.

The initiative aimed to inspire students to excel in sports and foster a sports culture by offering a platform for sporting activities and facilitating the building of strong bonds and camaraderie with the youth of Ukhrul.

Security Forces organised a lecture on awareness about abuse of  Drugs and other narcotic substances for children of Chandrakhong Village, Thoubal District, Manipur. A team of NCB Manipur led by SP Aram Anth conducted the lecture and emphasized on the ill effects of Narcotics and drug abuse on the human body.

A total of 55 children from various schools around Chandrakhong villages along with teachers and parents attended the lecture. Students also stepped forward and expressed their views on the subject.

Finally, the event concluded with the distribution of sweets and refreshments to students. The teachers and parents appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for their valuable time and conducting such informative activity amid the unrest and tension in the state.
