Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate for Outer Lok Sabha constituency Kachui Timothy Zimik on Monday urged the voters to scrutinise the candidate before casting their precious votes.
Responding to media queries about his work to foster peace in Manipur, Zimik underscored the need for voters to discern genuine dedication among the candidates.
The NPF candidate, who is supported by the Bharatiya Janata Party and National Democratic Alliance, asserted, “Each candidate possesses distinct qualifications and capabilities.”
He shared his qualifications and experience to evaluate. It is essential for voters to examine whether candidates align their promises with tangible actions evident in their background records, he added.
“As I approach 65 years of age, I trust that my track record and contributions will instill confidence in the electorate,” he said.
As he commenced his address to the media and a gathering of individuals from the Ching Tam Women Development Association, he said, “Should the public entrust me with the responsibility of representing them as a Member of Parliament, I shall spare no effort in striving to foster peace in Manipur. It is crucial to recognise the diversity within Manipur, comprising the Meitei, Naga, Kuki, Meitei Pangal, and Gorkha communities,” Timothy said.
In his pursuit of peace, irrespective of community size, every group holds inherent rights that demand respect and mutual understanding, he mentioned.
He continued that “Initiating dialogues among all communities is paramount to achieving peace, paving the path for regional development. I am committed to earnestly pursuing this objective.”
Expressing gratitude, the NPF candidate also commended and conveyed his joy to the Ching Tam Women Development Association for their endorsement in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
During the press conference, a small programme of reception for the members of Ching Tam Women Development Association was also held.
