Science awareness programme in rural areas ends

A programme of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) demonstration and popularization of science awareness in rural areas was conducted at Cherapur, Thoubal district.

The eight-days programme of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) demonstration and popularization of science awareness in rural areas conducted by the People's Development Foundation (PDF) at Cherapur, Thoubal district ended on Thursday.

The awareness programme was sponsored by the National Council for Science and Technology Communications, Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and was concluded at the premises of The Royal Brighter Academy, Sora, Kakching District, with various science-based student’s activities namely, Science Quiz Competition, Science Model Competition and Painting Competitions.

The programme was organized with an objective to popularize and inculcate the basic science and technology innovations amongst the educationally backward SC/ST concentrated rural areas in Manipur.

The eight-day programme was divided into two sections - one section being a 4-day programme held from 5 to 8 March, 2023 at Mount Moreh English High School, Tengnoupal district.

The closing function was held on Thursday at Cherapur and it was attended by Keibuanang Kamei, principal of The Royal Brighter Academy, Elangbam Monopriya Devi, TGT and T Koshel Shang, assistant teacher.
