School association condemns kidnapping of school student in Ukhrul

The HiDiPSAM called upon all right thinking citizens to lend assistance in curbing such “act of terror” in order to facilitate a safe and conducive academic environment in the state.

The Hill Districts Private Schools Association Manipur (HiDiPSAM) strongly condemned the “inhuman act of kidnapping one Castle Ikror, a student of class IV of KTL Excel Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul by five unidentified miscreants on June 10, 2022 and later dumping him packed in a gunny sack at Mayotang Zone -II, Ukhrul.

“This sadistic act on the part of the five miscreants has created fear and insecurity among students, parents and the general public,” the HiDiPSAM said in a statement on Tuesday.

The HiDiPSAM called upon all right thinking citizens to lend assistance in curbing such “act of terror” in order to facilitate a safe and conducive academic environment in the state.

The association urged the department concerned to do what is right in all earnestness and book the culprits at the earliest. It said that the society cannot afford to allow such evil to fester.

The HiDiPSAM also said it “stands with the Association of Recognised Schools Ukhrul District (ARSUD) on this crucial issue and expressed its solidarity.

It may be mentioned that Castle Ikror is the son of (Late) Wungnaoshang Rephung of Ukhrul.
