Locals, Meira Paibis and clubs of Sagolband, Imphal, on Thursday held a meeting in the presence of Sagolband MLA RK Imo Singh reaffirming their stance to restore peace and to protect the territorial integrity of the state.
A release issued by Ng Manao Singh, PRO to MLA RK Imo Singh, stated that the meeting acknowledged that presence of more security in the hills adjoining the valley will ensure more peace in the foothills of the valley and will lead to less violence.
The need to work for a village protection force which can ensure adequate protection against illegal armed miscreants was also discussed, it mentioned.
It mentioned the need for full-scale military action against forces coming from outside the country, as it is an act of war against the country.
Sagolband Peace and Relief Committee along with the local clubs will distribute relief items to around 200 displaced people who are residing currently in various parts of Sagolband, it added.
