He said the maintenance work is taken under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and the present government is targeting completion of the maintenance work within the 100-day programme of the new BJP-led coalition government.

Khemchand said Manipur faces rain for about four-five months in a year and due to the reason, repairing of roads could not be done fast. However, he will advise the authorities concerned for completion of the remaining part of the road after the rainy season, he said, adding that maintenance work in the valley has also started.
