It may be noted that the government’s move to recruit healthcare professional to fill up the 435 vacant posts comes after a long lapse of seven to eight years, as RIMS has not held any sort of permanent post recruitment since 2016.

Stressing on clean recruitment process and saying that “Development in RIMS is development for Manipur”, the director sought the support of the public and the aspirant candidates to ensure a free and fair recruitment process.

Such filling of the vacant posts will be a big help in the smooth functioning of the institute, she added.

Echoing the same hope, medical superintendent of RIMS, N Sanjib, said: “The lack of manpower in the institute due to numerous vacant posts was a big hindrance in strengthening numbers of beds in ICU, wards and other departments.

Further expressing the hope that the recruitment will be carried out according to the procedures and the recruitment will aid in smooth functioning of the institute, Dr Sanjib said that such recruitment process under the Rozgar Scheme will help in filling up the vacant posts in a steady manner.

The Non-Medical Staff Association and Tribal Staff Welfare of RIMS representatives lauded the effort of the new director Dr M Priyosakhi for her initiative by providing 100 per cent DA to the contractual staffs and overall welfare of the institute.
