Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, inaugurated “Newly Installed Multipurpose Digital Radiography Fluoroscopy System (DRF-800)” on Tuesday at the Department of Radiodiagnosis, RIMS, Imphal.
The inaugural programme was graced by Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director RIMS, Imphal, in presence of Professor N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, the director expressed pride to learn that RIMS is the first to install the facilities in the government sector. It is a state-of-art high end digital imaging multi tool having AI facilities with automatically positioning, automatically generated image and very handy, he added.
“The system can do Radiography for the whole leg spine. Three dimensional X-Ray can also be processed for any position of the body. Different types of investigations can be summed up at one time through this system,” the director said, adding that it also reduces emission of radiation and exposure.
Besides, it can also conduct Barium swallow, Barium Meal, Barium enema, urology investigation, Gynaecologist investigation, and Myelography. It also caters facilities for interventional procedures like Endoscopy, Placement of Catheter, Biopsy, Lumbar Puncture etc. The public will be immensely facilitated by this system with AI positioning, said Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma.
RIMS Hospital MS stated that it is a proud moment for RIMS with the installation of Multipurpose Digital Radiography Fluoroscopy System (DRF-800), RIMS are going ahead with our aim of making a RIMS Hospital more patient friendly.
The programme was attended by all HODs and faculties, Principal of College of Nursing, staff and officials of RIMS, Imphal.
