The JNV Khumbong Alumni Association has opened a Relief Data Support Centre to streamline and facilitate the flow of information between relief providers and relief camps, amid the prevailing crisis in Manipur.
Thousands of displaced people are currently taking shelter at various camps, it stated. In this connection, the humanitarian effort of the local clubs and voluntary organisations towards providing relief materials has been overwhelming.
However, due to lack of proper information system the relief materials could not be reached properly to the most needed camps. On the other hand, some camps are receiving relief materials in huge quantity, it stated.
Pointing out that there is a big gap in the flow of information between the relief camps and relief material providers (club/organisation) and given the critical lack of viable information system, the INV Khumbong Alumni Association has volunteered to open the Relief Data Support Centre, it added.
The centre will make all-out efforts to collect information regarding the materials which are urgently needed. Information accordingly will be shared with relief providers. This would enable the club/organisation in locating and providing relief materials wherever needed the most, it stated.
The club/organisation and contact persons of the relief camps may kindly get in touch with the centre at mobile No 9402692682 and 9863731224, it added.
