The All College Tribal Student’s Union, Imphal, has urged the Manipur government to release the second phase scholarship of the 2022-23 academic session by February 29.
Speaking to the media at the Manipur Press Club on Wednesday, human resource secretary of the All College Tribal Student’s Union, Wichamdinbou Charenama, said that the scholarship of the academic session 2022-23 for the first phase was released in October 2023. However, the second phase is yet to be released, he said.
Students have been at the concerned department many times with the concerned officials assuring to release it in the month of December and January, he said.
And while the second phase of the scholarship has been sanctioned by the Centre, the state government is yet to release them, he said.
He then called on the government to release them by February 29 and warned that protests and agitations would be initiated if it fails to do so.
