Women in Governance (WinG) Thoubal on Tuesday announced that the organisation will organise a public rally protesting the increase in various forms of abuse against women in the society by August 20.
In a press meet held at Wangjing, WinG Thoubal member Oinam Thoibi recalled that WinG Thoubal had been working for the eradication of all forms of abuse against women. The development of a society can be determined by the way it treats its women, she added.

She said that WinG Thoubal strongly condemned the recent incident of a man sexually abusing his own under-aged daughter, in Thoubal. She urged the authorities concerned to sentence the accused with punishment of life imprisonment or capital penalty of death by hanging.
Oinam Thoibi continued that WinG Thoubal will organise the public rally to Thoubal District Head Quarter and submit a memorandum to the authorities concerned. She appealed to the people to support WinG Thoubal and participate in the rally to fight the abuse against women.
