Rainwater harvesting scheme inaugurated

The project which was constructed under AR Civic Action Programme was handed over to T Minou (T Motha) villagers.

SM, Commandant 43 Assam Rifles Colonel Sumit Sood inaugurated a Rainwater Harvesting Project at T Minou (T Motha) village, under Tengnoupal district Manipur on Wednesday.

The inauguration programme was attended by T Minou villagers, including its village chief. Village chiefs of the surrounding villages, H Munnom, Haolenphai, TV Gamnomphai and other villages also attended the programme.

The 5,000 litres Water Storage Tank was constructed by Moreh battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South).

The project which was constructed under AR Civic Action Programme was handed over to T Minou (T Motha) villagers in a small function.

T Minou village chief Moullum lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles in bringing the basic amenities of life in the remote border village and expressed heartfelt gratitude towards security forces on behalf of the villagers.

“We have to lend support to the Assam Rifles if and when they take up any activities in the area,” Moulum said.
