Tamenglong Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters, 22 Sector Assam Rifles/IGAR (E) on Monday kicked off a pre-recruitment training at Tamei COB in the name of renowned social worker late 'R Teleping' for male candidates to train them for the upcoming recruitment rallies for Agniveer (Indian Army) and Assam Rifles.
The opening ceremony was attended by 44 Assam Rifles officiating commandant, village authorities and community leaders of Tamei.
On the occasion, 44 Assam Rifles officiating commandant highlighted the pivotal role of young minds in shaping the society and how the training will benefit the youths in the future. He talked about the importance of education and physical training, which will thereby assist in molding the character and ensuring the well being of future generations.
He thanked the trainees for taking interests and initiative to come from far flung areas and become part of this training camp. He informed that the training camp is being conducted from March 6 to 18 in continuation with efforts of Assam Rifles to empower the local youth to ensure enrolment from far flung areas of Tamei Sub Division.
The main objective of the training programme is to guide and prepare potential candidates to clear various tests conducted as part of recruitment drives of Indian Army and Assam Rifles, he said.
"The trained youth of Tamei shall one day be a proud part of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles," the commandment said.
The camp will begin with scrutiny of documents followed by physical tests and skill tests under experienced coaches and medical examination by Assam Rifles Medical staff, he added.
He also informed that the candidates attending the training capsule will be awarded with prizes for meritorious performances and participation certificates upon completion of the training.
Village authorities and community leaders of Tamei highly appreciated and lauded the efforts of Tamenglong Battalion for organising such events considering the benefits for local youth.
