The Joint Artist Association members performed patriotic songs at a public rally in Churachandpur

A public rally under the aegis of the Joint Students Body (JSB) was organised on Thursday in Churachandpur to mark the 100th days of unrest faced by the Kuki -Zo community that led to the death of more than 130 tribal individuals.

The rally led by the members of the Central Village Volunteers Force started from Churachandpur Public Ground via Phailien, Bungmual, New Lamka, Sialmat, Hmar Veng etc. that culminated at the Wall of Remembrances at Tuibong where a formal tribute was offered to the departed martyrs by observing a one-minute silence.

At the Wall of Remembrances, JSB convenor Nengzalian Tonsing, speaking in front of the participants who are most likely volunteers and youths, said that there are 13 students union under the JSB which took the initiative in many fronts during the present crisis, and the event was a tribute to the departed heros/martyrs and honoring the frontline heros.

The martyrs’ family were also given a special invitation for the event. The Joint Artist Association members performed patriotic songs and the programme ended with a vote of thanks delivered by the secretary of JSB, DJ Haokip.
