Public convention serves ultimatum, threatens to impose bandh along NH-37

Longmai Area public convention on Thursday resolved to issue a charter of demands which included the delivery of required doctors and staff at the PHC, Noney and served a four-day ultimatum i.e. February 16 to 19 to fulfill them.

Longmai Area public convention on Thursday resolved to issue a charter of demands which included the delivery of required doctors and staff at the PHC, Noney and served a four-day ultimatum i.e. February 16 to 19 to fulfill them.

The resolution was taken at a convention at Longmai Bazar Shed in Noney district.

The people shall resort to impose an indefinite total bandh along NH-37 and stop all the National projects being undertaken in the area like the Railway construction work, etc.

The convention was jointly organised by Village Council, Longmai Area, RNCM Longmai Luangrian, RNLP Longmai Luangrian, Naga Women Association Longmai Area, Inpui Naga Women, Longmai Students Union and various local based CSOs soliciting the kind attention of chief minister, Manipur, minister Health, concerned MLA and other concerned authorities to the issue.

It demanded to utilise all the available building infrastructure to deploy doctors and other necessary staff to render service equipment to the district hospital at the earliest.

It also demanded the construction of a District Hospital at the earliest possible and immediate appointment of the required number of lab technicians and nurses at the station.

It further demanded to make the life saving Ambulance Services operational, stating that they have remained dormant for a long time.
