The complaints were filed to the PM and State Vigilance Department by one R Peichun of Keishamthong Kabui Khul, Angom Sarjurani Devi of Awang Sekmai, K Koshang Maring of Nungourok Village and Laishram Purnimashi Devi of Singjamei, alleged that the commissioner abused his official position by issuing an illegal order of promotion.

Speaking to the media at his office in Imphal, Ranijit expressed strong condemnation against such allegations made without factual verification from the department.

The commissioner, who is scheduled to take his retirement on January 31, said, “I don’t have any negative mark in my 35 years of career. Such baseless allegations made during the verge of my retirement hurts me and seems to insult me morally to tarnish my reputation.”
