Professor Premlata Maisnam has been re-elected as state president of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for the year 2023-2024 while Gautam Philem has been elected as state secretary.
This announcement was made today from the state office in Imphal according to the statement issued by the Election Officer Thiyam David Singh from the state office of ABVP, the student organisation stated in a release.
The term of both the posts is for one year, and both the office bearers will assume their responsibility during the 9th State conference Manipur of ABVP schedule to be held in Indraprastha Nagar, DDA Maidan, near Nirankari Sarovar Burari, New Delhi, on December 7, 2023, the release said.
Professor Premlata Maisnam hails from Khuyathong Pukhri Achouba Maning in Imphal West District. She has a PhD in Education and is presently a Dean (School of Education, Manipur University) and Professor in Department of Education at the Manipur University, Canchipur.
Gautam Philem hails from Moirang, Bishnupur. He is pursuing MSc from NIT Manipur, Lamphel and has been in touch with the vidyarthi parishad since 2019. He was the Moirang college Student Union Secretary, ABVP Manipur SWC Member, State Joint Secretary, Ukhrul Nagar Vistarak and full time worker since 2022.
