Thawai Mirel on Thursday accused the Manipur BJP government of stealing away the lifeless Kuki bodies at JNIMS and RIMS morgue despite the people’s dissent.
The group cautioned that it would launch a series of intense agitations along with the people if the authorities failed to produce the missing lifeless bodies of Meiteis within 24 hours.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, Thawai Mirel co-convenor P Sanahanbi stated that the ministers and MLAs in the governance were lowlifes who only aspired to hold in their political power.
“Their minds are set only on vested interests and nothing else. The people have been suffering for seven months but all the hue and cry has fallen on deaf ears,” she said.
She highlighted that several Meitei bodies had either gone missing or had been killed since the crisis erupted.

She questioned why the government was still at a standstill with no concrete progress about their whereabouts.
“Instead of properly ascertaining the specifics of the missing cases they sneakily transported all the bodies from the morgue,” she said.
She pointed out that several families had finished all the funeral rituals without any knowledge on the whereabouts of their loved ones.
As such she cautioned authorities that the women of Manipur would launch a series of intense agitations if the bodies of missing Meiteis were not produced within 24 hours.
