The State Level Unique Selling Proposition (USP) exhibition 2023-24 and Transforming Health and Education Landscape inauguration ceremony was held at the State Implementation Society, Samagra Shiksha (Elementary), Imphal on Tuesday.
The programme was organised by Samagra Shiksha, State Implementation Society Manipur. On the occasion, director of Education(S) L Nandakumar stated that USP was a programme under the union Ministry of Education.
“The programme aims to connect real life practices with theoretical understanding,” he said. Highlighting the unique selling point or feature of a school was another objective of the programme, he added.
He stated that proper linkage of theoretical base with practical application would make learning more exciting and fun, he further said. “If a school has a performing band, sound would be the most prominent thing. From there, the students can explore the science behind sound. USP acts as the bridge in such instances” he said.
He also stated that the department was striving to provide necessary facilities to school going relief camp children.
“But due to limited resources, we can only do so much. Here, UNISED has helped tremendously in various aspects making education accessible to all by providing them with basic school supplies,” he said.
Prizes for the USP exhibition were also distributed during the event. Ananda Academy snatched the first place, KK Leishipat Jr High School and Kumbi Sandong Upper Primary School received the second place while Khurkhul Laireijao Upper Primary School and Ithai High School secured the third place.
Additional state project director of Samagra Shiksha Soraisham David, finance controller Bobby Moirangthem and chief finance officer of Education (S) Sanatombee Bachaspatimayum among others were present during the event.
