President’s Correctional Service Medals for 45 prison personnel; one from Manipur

The President of India has conferred the Correctional Service Medal for Meritorious Service on five prison personnel from Northeast India

The President of India has approved conferment of Correctional Service Medals to as many as 45 prison personnel, including one from Manipur, on the occasion of Independence Day 2022.

According to the Union Home Ministry, at least seven prison personnel have been conferred with the President’s Correctional Service Medals for Distinguished Service, while 38 others have been approved for the President’s Correctional Service Medals for Meritorious Service.

Among those honoured with the President’s Correctional Service Medal for Meritorious Service are five prison personnel from Northeast India, the ministry said in a release.

President’s Correctional Service Medals for Meritorious Service includes one from Manipur - Ashokumar Tamang, Head Warder; two from Meghalaya - Sushil Baruah, Warder and Pranab Kr Das, Assistant Superintendent; one from Assam - Rabi Ram Ingti, Jailor and one from Sikkim - Jigmee Dorjee Bhutia, Assistant Sub-Jailor.
