Ichebi, a non-blended garden fresh tea, was launched on Friday at the brand’s office in Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak, Imphal West.
Attending the event, former Director of ICM, N Ranjana lauded the initiative taken up by the youths of the state to be self-reliant and urged all to support those who aim to provide quality products to the people of Manipur, stated a release.
Of late, the people of the state, especially those affected by the conflict have started producing eatable and non-eatable items required on a daily basis to earn their livelihood, she noted. She appealed to the public to purchase the products to generate more revenue and help the new generation become self-sufficient, it added.
Speaking at the programme, Pradhan of Sapam Leirak, Athokpam Bishorjit Singh, said the tea industry should be encouraged adding that Manipur has huge tea potential, it said. He maintained that the tea industry is a highly advanced and lucrative industry which needs state patronage and people’s support, it stated.
While, Proprietor of M/S Ichebi, Kanchan Laishram, said the brand is named in memory of Ningthoukhongjam Ningol Khuraijam Ongbi Shantibala and asserted that the initiative aimed to provide the people of the state with the highest quality teas from around the world, the release mentioned.
She informed that the public can get the brand online through the website ‘www. ichebi.com’, it said. She maintained that all-out efforts are being made to ensure the product reaches the mass in all possible varieties, from the smallest to the buyers who buy in bulk, it said. She also mentioned that the entire management of packaging, selling are all done in Manipur, it added.
