Tamenglong Battalion of 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector of Assam Rifles Headquarter IGAR (E) began its 26 days pre- recruitment training at Tamenglong district headquarter under the banner of ‘Rani Gaidinliu training camp’ on Tuesday.
In the first ever pre-recruitment training, as many as 279 young boys and girls from different corners of Tamenglong and Noney districts are taking part in the rare Rani Gaidinliu training camp.
In an inauguration ceremony that was held at its battalion headquarter in the morning, 44 Assam Rifle commandant Col Rahul Singh said that in continuation with the efforts of Assam Rifles to ensure enrollment from remote areas of Tamenglong, the training Camp is being conducted.
The 44 Assam Rifles Commandant highlighted the important role of young minds in the society and how the training will benefit the youth in future.
He said that education and physical training assist in shaping the character, loyalty, integrity and wellbeing of future generations. It is one of the means to channelize their youthful energy, he said.
He also thanked the guardians of trainees for attending the event and lauded the efforts of youth who have come from far flung areas like Tousem, Tamei subdivision and from the corners of Tamenglong district to be part of this training camp.
Encouraging the participants to part seriously and vibrantly, the commandant said that in any upcoming recruitment either of Assam Rifles, Army or the state police, the boys and girls from Tamenglong should be selected in maximum.
He recalled that when 44 Assam Rifles were at Makokchung in Nagaland, it organised pre- recruitment training where maximum young boys and young girls were selected.
He mentioned that there will be a volleyball match among the trainees. They will have a grand campfire where certificates will be given out to participants at the end of the training, he added.
