It may be mentioned that 40-year-old Chandramani succumbed to his injuries at Asian Hospital, Kwakeithel after being shot by suspected Kuki militants. The unfortunate incident happened on Wednesday morning at Thamnapokpi Chingkhong under the jurisdiction of Moirang Police station.

It may be recalled that Chandramani has been taking shelter at Moirang Ngangkha Leikai relief camp after his house in Churachandpur Thengra Leikai was burnt down by Kukis during the ethnic clash.
