Poll preparedness in full swing in Manipur's Kangpokpi

The commissioning process was held after the second round of randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs to be used in the polling booths of the three Assembly Constituencies of Kangpokpi district, Manipur.

The commissioning process of the EVMs and VVPATs was held on Friday at the FLC hall, Mini-Secretariat, Kangpokpi District in connection to the ensuing 18th Lok Sabha Elections, 2024.

The commissioning process was held after the second round of randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs to be used in the polling booths of the three Assembly Constituencies of Kangpokpi district namely 46-Saikul (ST), 50-Kangpokpi and 51-Saitu (ST) were held through Election Management System (EMS) on Friday.

The process was done in the presence of members of recognised political parties functioning within Kangpokpi district and district election team. It may be mentioned that polling will be held in 166 polling stations and 24 Special Polling Stations for the Internally Displaced Persons falling under the 2- Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency on April 19.  

Meanwhile, the second round of training for the polling personnel in connection to the ensuing 18th Lok Sabha Elections, 2024 continued on Friday for the second day in Kangpokpi district. The first training session for the male presiding officer, Polling Officer-1, Polling Officer-2 and Polling Officer-3 began at the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC) Kangpokpi district.

A total of 213 polling officers attended the training which is crucial for ensuring that the officers are well-equipped to carry out their duties effectively during elections, maintaining the integrity and transparency of the voting process.

The training was imparted by experienced trainers joint secretary DK Thangboi; (AC to DC) Samuel Misao; SDO, Island and Lhungtin S Plim Reikhenamai; SDO K Geljang and Bungte Chiru Md Hefajuddin among others.
