People need to be vigilant: Minister Govindas

Manipur Works Minister K Govindas on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of Moirangthong Bridge, Iroisemba, Imphal West.

Manipur Works Minister K Govindas on Wednesday called on the people of the state for the need to be vigilant while the government is trying to transform Manipur into a developed state.

Addressing the foundation stone laying of Moirangthong Bridge, Iroisemba, Imphal West, the minister said that the new RCC Moirangthong bridge will be of 28 meter long with a double-lane width in which the total estimated cost for the construction of the bridge will be of approximately Rs 1.8 crore.

He said the government has put restrictions on digging of roads and hence, people need to be vigilant as some of the people are digging the road after the black topping is completed.

Govindas said while bringing development, development of roads and bridges is necessary.

The laying of the foundation stone of Moirangthong bridge was witnessed by Patsoi MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor alias Keba and chief engineer, PWD, N Noren Singh.
