The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Konsam Tomba, son of (Late) K Yaima from Khagempalli Pankha Huidrom Leikai. The Lamphel Police arrested the driver of the water tanker truck, with license number AS-26L/1370, and detained the vehicle. After a post-mortem at RIMS, the body was handed over to the bereaved family.

In another incident, the body of an unidentified man with non-Manipuri features, was found near Nupilal Complex under Imphal Police Station. The body was handed over to the RIMS mortuary.
