Forum for Restoration of Peace on Friday informed that the peace rally on May 30 will take place if administrative permissions are granted and that the forum will move the rally to another date if it coincides with security measures in line with the union home minister’s visit.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, convenor of Forum for Restoration of Peace, Ashang Kasar, called on the people to extend their service in swiftly resolving the ongoing conflict and stated that individuals should not draw out every issue on communal lines.
He highlighted that the forum was founded with various communities to usher peace and normalcy in the state and appealed to people to aid the forum at this crucial juncture.
“We appeal to people to refrain from making derogatory communal remarks and not attack religious places; we should respect our differences and not trample on each other’s sentiments,” he said.
He informed that the rally has been planned to foster respect, peace and tranquillity among all communities in the state.
