The office of the Sr Superintendent of Police, Thoubal district on Saturday issued advisories on parking and traffic arrangements for the district in view of the counting day on Tuesday.
The latest orders issued by Sr SP, THoubal, Rakesh Balwal notified all concerned of the grounds, office complexes, roads which will be used as parking, movement routes of counting personnel/agents of Thoubal district.
It said that Athokpam Junior High School ground and the Veterinary Office Campus will be used for parking of vehicles of counting staff coming from Wangjing side, while areas in from of HDFC Bank and TATA Motors, Thoubal Premises will be used for parking of vehicles of counting staff coming from Thoubal side.
It also stated that all vehicles belonging to counting agents, security personnel coming from Kakching -Pallel side towards DC office, Thoubal related to counting will be parked at Khangabok Higher secondary school ground and Public ground opposite SP Office, Thoubal. While the vehicles coming from Imphal side towards DC office, Thoubal related to counting will be parked at Thoubal Melaground and Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School ground, it mentioned.
The order also said that the vehicles plying on NH-102 from Imphal to Pallel side and Pallel to Imphal side will be diverted at Yairipok Lamkhai and Wangbal on NH-102 respectively with effect from 6 am of Tuesday till the counting is over so as to facilitate free passage of the officials and sanitizing the area from Yairipok Lamkhai to Wangbal and for effective maintenance of law and order during the counting hours.
It also devised the route movement of vehicles for the general public, stating that vehicles from Imphal side will be diverted at IVR Nepra Charangpat road via IVR Wangbal, while vehicles coming from Khangabok side will be diverted at IVR Nepra via Yairipok Lamkhai and vehicles coming from Kakching side will be diverted at IVR Wangbal road via IVR Nepra Charangpat via Yairipok Lamkhai.
It also requested the public to take alternate convenient routes accordingly in order to avoid traffic congestion and inconvenience, and further advised not to take roads close to the DC Office complex, Thoubal for any emergencies.
