A combined team of Imphal West district commando and a column of 15 Assam Rifles apprehended one active member of the underground organisation, PREPAK (Pro) from Lilong Chajing Meitei Lamkhai on Saturday at about 5.30 on Saturday morning.

The apprehended person has been identified as one Haobam Nganba alias Abo, 38, son of late H Mahabir of Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal, Imphal East.

Police reported that he joined the said underground organisation in the year 2018 and worked under the command of one major Jiten of the said organisation. He disclosed that he collected a huge amount of money from rehabilitation centers in the valley area for raising funds for the said organisation. Nganba further disclosed that he used his SBI bank account number for a monetary transaction for their party funds.

Two mobile handsets, two bank passbooks, one wallet containing one aadhaar card, one driving license, one pan card, one SBI ATM card and a sum of Rs 8,410 were recovered from his possession.

The arrested person along with the seizures has been handed over to Singjamei Police station for further necessary legal action.
