A cyclist died in a road accident involving a four-wheeler along the National Highway 102 near Wangbal Mid-Field School under Thoubal police station around 12.30 pm Saturday, sources said.

The police said the deceased has been identified as Hukamang Panmei, 23, son of Khangkhuanang Panmei from Duiluan Part II of Tamenglong district.
According to police, Hukamang was riding his bicycle from Thoubal towards Wangjing. He was hit by a car (Hyundai Creta, MN04P-1661) coming from the same direction, it added. Hukamang died on the spot, it mentioned.

It continued that the Creta car had been seized and a case has been registered by the police. After a post mortem was conducted at JNIMS the body was received by the bereaved family, it added.
