One dies in clash along Myanmar border

A gunfight between North east UG groups and cadres of PDF and KNA(B) broke out on Wednesday morning and continuing till Thursday.

One KNA(B) cadre died in a gunfight between North East India UG group at Min Thar of Sagaing region near Moirengthel/Maringthel area along Myanmar border on Thursday around 6 am; the deceased's AK-56 rifle has also been taken.

Sources said that photo posts of the deceased KNA(B) cadre and the AK-56 rifle were seen on social media.

It may be mentioned that a gunfight between North east UG groups and cadres of PDF and KNA(B) broke out on Wednesday morning and continuing till Thursday.

It was also reported that several cadres of PDF and KNA(B) died during the gunfight. An unofficial source quoted about 14 dead among the PDF cadres.

Several posts could be seen in the social media of several dead cadres allegedly belonging to either PDF and KNA (B).

As per reports, on being asked about the gunfight, officers-in-charge of Chassad Police Station of Kamjong district, Machi Police Station and Tengnoupal Police Station of Tengnoupal District had zero knowledge about the gunfight as it happened inside the Myanmar border.

Villagers however said, they could hear sporadic gunfire across the border since Wednesday.
