Old age pension, widow cards distributed in Churachandpur

Eighty-five old age pension cards and 74 widow cards were distributed to the beneficiaries in Churachandpur on Monday.

As many as 159 welfare cards, including 85 old age pension cards and 74 widow cards, were distributed to the beneficiaries in Churachandpur on Monday.

During the distribution programme of the first phase of Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme & Chief Minister Widow pension scheme under the District Social Welfare Department, Manipur, for Churachandpur AC, MLA LM Khaute and District Social Welfare Officer handed out the cards to the 159 beneficiaries.

Speaking at the occasion, the MLA said that four new roads will soon be commissioned apart from the seven or more village connectivity roads that were made within the last one year.

He spoke about his plan to have clean drinking water for the people in their houses within two to three years that he had championed in the state assembly.

The cards that were distributed today were based on a first come first basis and were not the end but the start which will cover those who are eligible in Churachandpur AC, the MLA said.

DSWO Tampasana said that apart from the cards distributed today, they will soon give out disability certificates for the district too.
