Number, size of gangs in Churachandpur rising: KSO

Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur district on Monday claimed that there has been a steady growth in the number and size of gangs, criminal activities and violence in Churachandpur district.

Names of 24 gangs groups, each numbering 10-30 members belonging to age group 13-20, were mentioned in a release signed by information and public relations KSO.

The KSO has forbidden creation of any such gangs or groups in the future and informed all gang groups operating in the district to shun organised crime, violence, unethical delinquency, it stated.

The organisation also warned that any gang(s) neglecting or disobeying its appeal will be dealt with all seriousness.

As per the release,  Zongmelhoi Family, TF Rascal, X to X Familiez, PT Boyz, DUTCH Family, AVAI, RED Life, M.P.F FoR Life, Player Boyz,  CITY Lights, SYB, Chuk Chuk,  VIRUS Family, Legend, COCKROACH, NRNS, ZR, Danger Boyz, YGS, BGZ Family,  Cyrex, We Are Family, Sihzoupawk Family and Mixed Family are the names of the gang groups identified by KSO.  

It is believed the gangs provide music, alcohol or drugs use, parties, respect and general acceptance by peers, precocious sexual activities etc., KSO stated. KSO Churachandpur takes such unwanted social evils and delinquency seriously, it added.

The KSO also resolves to take its own course of action against such gangs indulging in unethical behaviour to prevent the district from turning into a hub for all immoral and unethical activities, it stated.

KSO also sought the support and full cooperation of village youth clubs and public towards its initiatives and also encouraged the general masses to report any suspected, fraudulent or unethical behaviours by any gang(s) or group(s) to report to the office of KSO/CCPUR.
