The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Tuesday condemned the ongoing ethnic crisis in Manipur, asserting that it is largely affecting the student community in the entire state and urged the government to restore peace at the earliest.
NSUI, in a release, asserted that the educational system, recovering and trying to get back on track after the COVID-19 pandemic, has been affected again by the prevailing communal crisis and failure in machinery of the government.
It pointed out that many students remain stranded in various relief camps and urged the government to ensure health, safety and basic essential commodities to the affected students.
It further condemned the relentless barbaric and violent acts in the state and reiterated its appeal to restore peace without further delay, and warned that NSUI will launch indefinite protests.
