NPP, JD-U candidates join BJP in Manipur

A reception ceremony was organised for the NPP, JD-U candidates, who joined the BJP, at the state BJP office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal late Sunday evening.

Saikot NPP candidate Khaipao Haokip and Kakching Janata Dal-United (JD-U) candidate Naorem Nabachandra, who competed during the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, have joined the BJP in Manipur.

In connection with the joining of the two new members, a reception ceremony was organised at the State BJP office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal late Sunday evening.

The two new members were felicitated by state president A Sharda Devi with party stoles.

It is said that Khaipao Haokip was Churachandpur district BJP president and was working as state executive member of the party.

However, during the distribution of party tickets for the 12th Manipur Legislative Election, the party ticket was not allotted to him and therefore, he contested the election from the NPP seat.

General secretary, state BJP, P Premananda Meeitei, L Deven and Y Surchandra, who contested in BJP ticket in the recent election, also attended the programme.
