JDO on Thursday rebuked a release earlier by Hmar Inpui, Churachandpur on December 4, 2023 in which the “Hmar Inpui identified the Kuki-Zo-Hmar as their lands and misled the people and by creating an image in which Manipur appears to be divided.”

It said that Hmar Inpui and its affiliated organisations do not have any right over the selection of areas for designated camps of the UNLF, which have recently signed a peace agreement with the government of India. No permission was required from the Hmar Inpui to sign the peace agreement, it added.

It said that the people of Manipur strongly believe that the signing of peace agreement will greatly help in reviving peace in the state from the ongoing violence. And the Hmar Inpui and their winged organisations should refrain themselves from releasing such press notes which will affect the territorial integrity of the state, it added.
