Meitei Pangal Council Manipur (MPCM) president Haji Arafat Ali Tampak on Thursday announced that monetary donations in connection with the present crisis will no longer be entertained at Hatta Golapati area without the consent of its local clubs.
Haji told the media at its office located at Hatta Golapati, Imphal East that many people are seeking monetary donations from the public for their own vested interests in the name of helping the internally displaced people.
Local clubs of Hatta Golapati area including MHGAU, GESCDO, GHYVO, MHSWU, UDO, MMLDO and UMGDC have been providing necessary assistance to many of the relief camps from time to time, he added.
The people staying under the jurisdiction of the local clubs have been also giving donations for internally displaced people at various relief camps. However, some people are frequently taking advantage and seeking monetary donations even forcibly from people for their own interests, he added.
He said no monetary donation will be made in Hatta Golapati area without the consent of its local clubs.
