The new executive members of the Naga Students’ Union Chandel (NSUC) on Saturday took oath and were sworn in to take charge of the apex Naga students’ body of Chandel in a simple ceremony held at the district headquarters.
They will hold the post for the tenure 20240-2027; the election for the new posts were held on January 29, 2024 at the office of the NSUC, Chandel.
The newly elected executives who took the oath are Ruwnglar Elly Anal as President, Parton Parpa as vice president, Sungnem Bungpem as general secretary, Khiang Punem as Finance Secretary and Lk Larningam as Education Secretary.
The oath taking was given by the Election Commission while the blessing was done by Rev. Leivon Samuel, Finance Secretary, LNBA.
Addressing the gathering, the new president of NSUC, Ruwnglar Elly Anal said that quality education would be his priory with focus on elementary education, secondary and higher education.
He also said that to preserve, protect and enrich the culture, traditions, customs, heritage and identity of the Nagas in Chandel would be his priority. To maintain harmony, Unity and Integrity of the Union too, he added.
The new NSUC president also called for joining hands as one family to educate, to enable and empower the student community for better generation of the district. He also assured to work for basic infrastructure/ upgradation of the union.
The outgoing president SK Joseph Lamkang also thanked all his executive members for their support during his term. While congratulating the newly elected members, he wished them the best for the future and called on them to take NSUC forward.
